Help Me Intern in Santiago, Chile!
My Travel Story
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I am majoring in Anthropology with a concentration in Disasters, Displacements, and Human Rights. I hope to one day attend law school and work with people displaced from their home following a natural disaster. The specific program I will be interning for is at Servicio Médico Legal in legal and forensic matters for the government administration of justice and Chilean people. I will be assisting a team of anthropologists and lawyers in determining the cause of death for people who died because of human rights issues, violent crimes, or natural disasters.
This specific internship stood out to me because of how well it reflects what I am studying. This is an amazing opportunity for me to expand my resume and earn experience in this field. I have always known that I wanted to travel abroad but I never imagined I would have this kind of cultural and educational opportunity. I am more than excited to take on this internship and Santiago.
Through all of the excitement, though, I still need some help with the finances. With the help of donations from you, I will be able to fund my flights down to Santiago and the program fees due in May. The work I will be doing in Santiago will not only benefit me and my future forever, but it could possibly change the lives of those people in Chile affected by natural disasters, violent crimes, or human rights issues. Thank you for your support in reaching my goal! I can’t wait to share my experience with everyone!
