Comparative Nursing Study in the UK!
My Travel Story
Those who know me well, know how long I debated starting this funding page. I hate asking for money! HOWEVER, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and vital to my career! I am currently in the nursing program through WITC and I am going to the UK for the month of June with WCTC college. While there I will be studying comparative nursing at the University of Sunderland, England. Some of the topics that we are learning about are: the history of nursing (Florence Nightingale museum), midwifery, maternity, nursing education in the UK, non-medical prescribing, children's services, pediatrics, immunizations, mental health, learning disabilities, drug and alcohol abuse, community nursing, accident, and emergency nursing, nursing home, and elderly care.
As you can see, I will be learning a TON. I will also be spending some time at the Sunderland hospital. I am so excited about this opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skills in nursing and to apply it in my education and career is invaluable. This experience will also (hopefully) help me explore and decide what kind of nurse I want to be (leaning towards midwifery). This trip will be challenging as I will be away from my home and family for 23 days! The longest I have ever been away, but I know this is going to be good for me and my family. The cost of this program is high, I have already come up with over half. I am just asking for a little help with the rest! I plan to make a vlog while there so everyone can see and experience what I am. I will post a link to this closer to the departure date.
