Be a part of my dream and help me go through the first stage of starting my PhD in Shanghai!

Sooo, one of my dreams came true when I was informed that I got into Shanghai University for my PhD in Sociology and Political Science. Can you believe it? Shanghai! For sure I am still pinching my arm. But hey, you can be a part of my dream too!

I’m Sahili, I’m Venezuelan, and I’ve been working, studying and training in women’s and girls’ human rights for almost 10 years now. It can be said easily but I assure you it has been a hard but incredible journey and experience to be part of what I believe is a little effort to transform our world into a better, happier and just place.

To start my PhD journey I must pay for all of the pre-trip medical tests and consultations, visa fees, and quite importantly, the quarantine expenses (as a part of the biosecurity measures the country has enabled due to COVID-19), food and basics, and the in-land plane ticket to get to uni safely after quarantine, for which I have started this campaign.

With your help in the form of donations I’ll be able to pay for my expenses and get to ShU to start another journey in the bettering of girls and women’s lives with a research project that aims to study how migration and human rights are related, and what could we do actively and efficiently to produce better ways and procure safe places for migrant people.

Sé parte de mi sueño ayudándome a lograr el primer paso para comenzar mi doctorado en Shanghai!

Uno de mis sueños se hizo realidad cuando supe que había sido admitida en la Universidad de Shanghai para realizar un doctorado en Sociología y Ciencias Políticas. ¿Lo puedes creer? ¡Shanghái!

Soy Sahili, soy venezolana y llevo casi 10 años trabajando, estudiando y formándome en derechos humanos para las mujeres y las niñas. Se doice fácilmente pero les aseguro que ha sido un viaje y una experiencia dura pero increíble para ser parte de lo que creo es un pequeño esfuerzo para transformar nuestro mundo en un lugar mejor, más feliz y más justo.

Para iniciar mi viaje debo pagar todas los exámenes y consultas médicas previas al viaje, las tasas de visado y, lo que es más importante, los gastos de cuarentena (como parte de las medidas de bioseguridad que el China ha estipulado debido a la COVID-19), la comida y los productos básicos, y el billete de avión para llegar a la uni sana y salva tras la cuarentena.

Con tu ayuda en forma de donaciones podré pagar mis gastos y llegar a la ShU para empezar otra experiencia valiosa con un proyecto de investigación que pretende estudiar cómo se relacionan la migración y los derechos humanos, y qué podríamos hacer de forma activa y eficiente para producir mejores formas y procurar lugares seguros para las personas migrantes.

Ayúdame a conseguir mi objetivo y acompáñame en un viaje increíble siendo una parte importante de mi sueño.
