My Travel Story

In the spring semester of 2018, I will be embarking on a journey abroad. After considering many different countries, I have decided that I want to have a non-traditional study abroad experience to somewhere other than Europe. With this being said I am set on spending my next semester in Bangkok, Thailand at Mahidol University.

Spending 15 weeks in a country halfway across the world where I will be forced to adapt to a new language and culture is going to be an incredible learning experience for me. Most college students wouldn't even consider traveling anywhere other than Europe because it is harder to adapt and doesn't receive nearly as much recognition. This is a very important opportunity that I cannot pass up.
I believe that I can offer my community so much more after experiencing a semester abroad. As part of my program, I am required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service, but I plan to go above and beyond so that I can gain the experience and leadership necessary to bring lasting change to my community.

This isn't solely for the benefit of travel experience, but also an opportunity to further both my education and my career. Being able to take courses in a different language is without a doubt going to be a difficult challenge, but one that I am positive I can overcome.
Not everybody has the courage and initiative to send themselves abroad for a semester, let alone a country where neither Spanish or English is the primary language. This is reflective of my character. I am willing to embark on difficult and lonely journeys to get to where I want to be. I could go on and on for days explaining how beneficial this experience would be for me, but I'll keep it short and sweet.

In regards to financing, I am able to cover about 65% of expenses through scholarships and financial aid. I will not be sitting around expecting others to just hand me free money. I want you to know that I am applying for several scholarships as well as saving small amounts from paychecks.
If you make a contribution to my campaign, I am more than happy to send you updates and pictures throughout the duration of my program abroad; you will be receiving something in return :)
If you took time out of your day to check this out, I would like to say thank you. I am extremely grateful for any contribution regardless of the amount.

Stay blessed my friends.
