My Travel Story

I am attending the antipodeans abroad trip to India in 2018. This trip has been organised through my school, and I chose to sign up for it. While on the trip, our group of around 50 students and 5 teachers, will spend 3 weeks in India. 5+ days will be spent trekking through the HImalayas, where we will visit villages and help with any tasks the communities there need help with. 5+ days will be spent in a single community where we have the opportunity to build a house for a widow with children, teach at schools, build a bathroom or give the community access to fresh water. This trip will be truly eye-opening and I hope that by going on it, I will further realise how lucky I am to live in a great area with a roof over my head and attend a good school. This will hopefully be the first of many volunteer trips, where I will form lifelong bonds with friends and people in the community.
