Hace unos años me diagnosticaron ansiedad y depresión. Para mí ha sido una recuperación lenta pero he ido mejorando. Vivo solo y tiendo a aislarme fácilmente y a principios del 2020 estaba pasando por una crisis emocional muy fuerte. Para colmo ese año el mundo dio un giro de 180 grados. ¡Todo se detuvo! Nos encerramos en nuestras casas durante semanas e incluso meses. Mi depresión comenzaba a hacer estragos y todos los días eran fríos y nublados, incluso cuando hacía sol afuera. Estuve a punto de rendirme, hasta que...

Aquí es donde todo comienza. Una tarde recibí una solicitud de amistad en Facebook y la acepté de mala gana. Casi nunca acepto solicitudes de extraños, pero por alguna razón le di una oportunidad a esta. Tal vez porque su foto de perfil era de una de mis películas favoritas. Un par de días después recibí el primer mensaje de esa cuenta, sin saber que nada sería igual a partir de ese momento: Disculpa, ¿eres mexicano? Me intrigó y respondí. Luego vinieron las preguntas de siempre: "¿De dónde eres? ¿Qué edad tienes?, Etc." Hablamos de idiomas y de lo que sea. Hasta que en algún momento de la conversación aparecieron las palabras “Voluntad y Fe”. Mi corazón dió un vuelco. Era lo que había necesitado encontrar durante mucho tiempo para salir del agujero emocional en el que estaba: Voluntad y Fé. Un par de días después le escribí y le agradecí sus palabras. Compartimos nuestras pasiones y una de las mías es escribir poesía. Solía leer o improvisar cuentos y poemas para que ella escuchara y leyera.

Su nombre es Yamina y es de Argelia. ¡El otro lado del mundo! ¿Pueden creerlo? Meses después de conocernos y hablar durante horas todos los días, nos volvimos muy cercanos. Ahora es más que mi mejor amiga. En 2022 comencé a escribir un libro con los poemas que escribí para ella y finalmente fue publicado en Noviembre.

Después de más de 2 años de amistad por fin tengo la oportunidad de ir a Argelia y conocerla. Quiero darle el libro que ella inspiró, lo cual es un gran logro para mí y significaría mucho si pudiera tenerlo en sus manos. También quiero conocer el país del que me habla todo el tiempo, su familia, encontrar inspiración para seguir escribiendo y mucho más.

Sin embargo, los gastos para obtener la visa hacen que este viaje sea un poco difícil.

This is where it all begins. One afternoon I received a friend request on Facebook and I reluctantly accepted it. I hardly ever accept requests from strangers, but for some reason I gave this one a chance. Maybe because his profile picture was from one of my favorite movies. A couple of days later I received the first message from that account, without knowing that nothing would be the same from that moment on: Sorry, are you Mexican? I was intrigued and responded. After that came the usual questions: "Where are you from? How old are you?, Etc." We talked about languages ​​and whatever else. Until at some point in the conversation the words "Will and Faith" appeared. My heart skipped a beat. It was what I had needed to find for a long time to get out of the emotional hole I was in: Will and Faith. A couple of days later I wrote to her and thanked her for her words. I cried while. We shared our passions and one of mines is writing poetry. I used to read or improvise stories and poems for her to listen and read.

Her name is Yamina and she's from Algeria. The other side of the world! Can you believe it? Months after meeting and talking for hours every day we became very close.  She's more than my best friend now. On 2022 I started writing a book with the poems I wrote for her and finally it was published on November.

After more than 2 years of friendship I finally have the opportunity to go to Algeria and meet her. I want to give her the book she inspired which is a big achievement to me and it would mean a lot if she could have it in her hands. I also want to know the coutry she tells me about all the time, her family, find inspiration to keep writing  and much more.

However the expenses to get the visa are making this trip kind of difficult.
