My Travel Story

This February, I will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador to participate in a Community Development Volunteer Program. I will be spending 3 weeks in Quito supporting marginalized & low-income communities where they most need it. This Volunteer program will allow me to combine both my love for Ecuador, its culture, language & people, and my love for helping others & giving back to the community in a meaningful way by feeding disadvantaged children, assisting in community gardens, helping with maintenance and renovations at schools and playgrounds or running workshops on social issues.

I hope to learn more about humanitarian issues worldwide, to better understand and respect different cultures by interacting with local communities, and ultimately help improve people's lives where it's needed most. I also aim to build lasting connections with the volunteer community, improve my communication skills, and hopefully, make a positive impact on the people's lives in Quito.

Este febrero viajaré a Quito, Ecuador para participar en un Programa de Voluntariado de Desarrollo Comunitario. Pasaré 3 semanas en Quito apoyando a comunidades marginadas y de bajos ingresos donde más lo necesitan. Este programa de voluntariado me permitirá combinar mi amor por Ecuador, su cultura, idioma y gente, y mi amor por ayudar a los demás y retribuir a la comunidad de una manera significativa alimentando a niños desfavorecidos, ayudando en jardines comunitarios, ayudando con el mantenimiento. y renovaciones en escuelas y parques infantiles o impartiendo talleres sobre temas sociales.

Espero aprender más sobre cuestiones humanitarias en todo el mundo, comprender y respetar mejor las diferentes culturas interactuando con las comunidades locales y, en última instancia, ayudar a mejorar la vida de las personas donde más se necesita. También mi objetivo es construir conexiones duraderas con la comunidad de voluntarios, mejorar mis habilidades de comunicación y, con suerte, tener un impacto positivo en la vida de las personas en Quito.
