My Travel Story

My name is James Finch and I am 13 years old. In February 2019 I will be visting Ghana along with 16 students from Humberston Academy for 11 nights. African Adventures who organised the visit are a charity that organises trips to Ghana,Kenya and Zanzibar to help in schools and support the volunteers from start to finish.

We will be going to a local school that helps students aged 4-13 years old. The charity assists the students either through building and renovation or teaching the local children in their classes.

For this amazing trip I need to raise £1795 through various fundraising projects.

My personal reason for going is to feel like I am making a difference by helping disadvantaged students in Ghana with their education. I think that people of my age group in this country tend to take their education for granted. Children in Ghana have to fight for their education.

  • Car Boot No. 2

    It was a very blustery and cloudy morning for the second Car Boot of the summer. Did better than last time we made about £38.00. Really pleased.

  • Car Boot Sale

    Car boot sale
    Today we visited a car boot sale looking to sell some old unwanted items for money for my trip. It was a early start which was hard for my teenage body. But I feel it was worth it for the £35 we raised towards my. Another step closer towards my goal.
