Help Me Travel the World in Honour of My Late Wife – A Journey of Faith and Purpose

My name is James, and I’m a 38-year-old British man setting out on the most personal journey of my life. Just over a year ago, I lost my wife, Eliza, to an aggressive form of cancer. She was my anchor, my best friend, and the person who taught me to see the beauty in people and in faith — even in the darkest times.

Her passing shattered me, but it also awakened something deeper in me: a calling to live the life we always dreamed of — one filled with connection, compassion, and purpose.

Why This Journey Matters
This isn’t just a trip — it’s a pilgrimage of healing, service, and faith. With your support, I’ll be traveling solo to places that Eliza and I had hoped to visit together, while dedicating my time to meaningful missionary work in underserved communities across South Africa, India and other parts of Asia.

I aim to:
Volunteer with local churches and Christian missions offering education, food, and support to vulnerable children and families.
Spread messages of faith and hope, grounded in the gospel, through storytelling, Bible sharing, and community worship.
Document my journey through a blog and video diary to raise awareness around cancer grief, mental health, and the power of service in healing.
Create a small foundation in Eliza’s name, using any excess funds to support cancer charities and grassroots missionaries who continue to do the Lord’s work in forgotten places.

Why I Chose This Path
Eliza believed deeply in kindness and in using faith to uplift others. We always talked about leaving behind the rush of city life to go where we were most needed. Though she’s not physically with me, I carry her spirit with every step I take.

This journey will help me:
Rebuild my life by walking a path rooted in giving rather than grieving
Serve those who are often overlooked or abandoned
Honor my wife’s legacy in a way that feels powerful and healing

How You Can Help
I’m funding as much as I can from my savings, but I can’t do this alone. Your donation will go toward:
Flights and basic accommodation during mission assignments
Modest daily needs while I volunteer full-time
Materials for local Bible study and outreach programs
Filming and producing short content to inspire others to serve

What You’ll Receive
A personalized thank-you message and regular travel updates
Behind-the-scenes moments from the missions and the people I meet
For larger donations: a handwritten letter or postcard from one of the countries I serve in

If you’ve ever experienced loss, questioned your purpose, or wondered what it means to live a life of meaning — I hope my journey resonates with you. With your help, I want to turn grief into grace, and pain into purpose.

Thank you for believing in this mission.

With gratitude and faith,

James
