My Travel Story

I want to study abroad because as a kid I always enjoyed learning abotu foreign cultures, specifically Japan. I had always wanted to visit Japan and see it, but I didn't think I was brave enough. When I was younger I would get made fun of and I sat alone at the lunch table. I soon became mentally ill. While this happened my mom came down with stage 3 cancer, and this was hard for all of my family. I regret not being able to be there for her. I wasn't brave enough to conquer my fears and stand up against people, and I wasn't able to be there for my family when they really needed me most. Even though I wasn't there for them, they were there for me the entire way through. I want to go abroad to prove that the little girl still in me doesn't need to stand back and take it. She can be brave enough to leave that lunch table and sit with someone else. She can survive an exchange year in a foreign country by being brave. I need funding for studying abroad because my mom is currently on disabillity and doesn't recieve child support. Thank you for your support! Anything helps!
