Hello everyone!

My name is Maysa, a translator by career but a musician by passion. I have always wanted to pursue a career in music.

Last year I studied master in Spain and it was a wonderful experience. Although I really wanted to study music, I knew that it was not the right time as I needed to establish myself in a career I can live from, which is why I decided to study master in language and comparative literature.

But during my stay in Spain, I visited the amazing city of Granada and decided to stay there for a couple of months until I finish writing my thesis. Whoever knows Granada knows that it charms you immediately; Granada became like home, I made so many friends and I felt more comfortable there than in any other city in the world. Unfortunately, I had to leave for home before my residence permit expired.

So I have a dream to combine between my passion for music and my favorite city in the world by studying music in Granada. Studying in Spain may not seem expensive for EU nationals, but for someone from a developing country, it is! Last year drained my bank account that I worked very hard to accumulate, and with the pandemic hitting the world, I was craving a job.

I have learned to play oud and piano; I'm working very hard to be a successful person and make a living while pursuing my dreams. But times are hard, and a small contributing can make a difference in someone's life.

Music taught me to be forgiving, to love, to be patient, and to know that life is worth living. I has helped me in the most difficult of times. I know that music is a language that the entire world speaks and I want to use it to make a difference; I just need to opportunity. I want to give back to the world while doing something I love.
