My Travel Story

by: Tony Amatulli Start Date: Aug 10, 2018 - End Date: Dec 9, 2018
SHORT SUMMARY
Travel broadens the mind and is, in fact, necessary to overcome the taboos and prejudices that limit one’s ability to accept new ideas. The idea is simple: to Travel the World for a 2 Years ON FOOT, visiting as many Countries as possible, taking a plane to Latin America, starting my tour from Argentina and then progress as far as possible from the asphalt ways

WHO WILL BENEFIT?
The idea sparked the middle of my working year as Director for an Italian cultural organization. The idea is to be able to collect other sponsors and/or private donations through a powerful advertising and media campaign hopefully able to give international visibility to this adventurous travel. Donations that will be entirely devoted to EMERGENCY, an independent and neutral Italian organisation founded in 1994 to provide free and high-quality medical and surgical care to victims of wars, anti-personnel mines and poverty.

THE IMPACT
The best thing about life, the greatest satisfaction that you can find is proven, not by the material fortunes, not by enrichment, not by degrees attained, not by honours, but by producing something objective and universal; by promoting a new and higher custom, a new and higher placement in the minds and in the will; by changing society for the better in the middle of where you live. This 2 years world tour wants to promote peace and understanding amongst people, to act as an engine for dialogue between our own and other cultures, to develop a mutual understanding and cultural cooperation between the nations.

WHAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR?
Around the world travel is cheaper than you think! But I am not saying it’s dirt cheap and I' m not t sure how much my trip will cost.  As a general guideline, travelers should consider $25,000 the baseline cost for a yearlong trip around the world for one person. This estimation falls in line with popular recommendations that budget travelers can travel for $50/$70 a day, and allows additional budget for flights and vaccine, accommodation, transport, or food.

HOW SOON DO I NEED THE FUNDS?
My idea is to travel from January 2019 until December 2020

WHAT DO YOU GET FOR HELPING ME?
The total collected funds would be constantly updated on a website or web page constructed specifically for the purpose, and donors would see their names (unless otherwise requested) published in real time on the website and kept updated. Donations of every amount would be accepted.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP
If you can't contribute, that doesn't mean you can't help: help me to get the word out and make some noise about my campaign.
