My Travel Story

by: Jen Chinarn Start Date: Mar 31, 2021 - End Date: Sep 30, 2021
Hi everyone it's Jeni here!! and I’m turning 36 this year. I am from Thailand. I’m the wannabe traveler with limited budget!

I love all sports (Especially Snowboarding that get the adrenaline pumping), I enjoy playing with dogs and cats, eating foods and bubble tea!, I’ve been very blessed to still hang on to my “inner child”.

So far I’ve traveled over 30 other countries but have many more in front of me! A few trips I have on my bucket list include visiting Patagonia, exploring New Zealand, and hiking various mountain in U.S.

My three dream trails come as a kind of package deal, as together they make up what is known as the “Triple Crown” of hiking. This term refers to the three major long-distance hiking trails in the U.S., the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), the Appalachian Trail (AT), and the Continental Divide Trail (CDT).

I dream of the 2022 summer spent hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. The Distance: 4,270 km (2,653 miles), from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington, following the Sierra Nevada and Cascade ranges from scorching desserts to snowy mountains.

As hard as it will be, it’s 100% worth it. The Pacific Crest Trail is notorious for having the lowest completion rate of any long distance trail, and I want to see why! I'm planning to hike the PCT, it takes commitment. Take training for my thru-hike seriously. I don’t give up on myself too quickly when the going gets tough especially the financial investment in gear for the Pacific Crest Trail & my Pacific Crest Trail resupply boxes.

I expect to spend $6,500 on the six-month walk. So I'm going to need the community’s support with the tough stuff.
