My Travel Story

by: Noelle Olson Start Date: Apr 7, 2020 - End Date: Aug 4, 2020
My Name is Noelle and this summer I would like to travel to Cape Town, South Africa. I just recently received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. There are many reasons why I would like to do an Internship Cape Town. South Africa experiences high levels of poverty, inequaility, and institutionalized racism, because of this, many South Africans have had thier freedom and rights taken away from them. Throughout my college experience I have spent a vast amount of time studying and learning about how social factors impact individuals. I have also gained some experience working with people in the criminal justice field. For example, I spent the past ten months working in a Wisconsin Prison. In the past, I have worked with at-risk youth and volunteered for an organization called CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). This internship would be the perfect way to build off of the foundation I already have and help those who most need it. I would be taking on the role of helping those who were once incarcerated work towards becoming successful members in the community. Please consider founding me so I can help those who need it. Without your help, I will not be able to help others. If I am able to raise the money needed, I will share with those who are interested my experience. I promise, it will be worth it!
