Howdy there!

As the first graduating class of our homeschool group in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, we are planning a senior trip to Washington D.C.! Throughout our education these past few years, we have learned a lot about a lot of different things: Philosophy, chemistry, music, latin but one of our favorites was an extensive timeline of our American history. As we pondered possible senior trips, we started small. We considered a theme park a few hours away or museums close by, but we thought, "let's go see all the historical landmarks we have learned so much about!"

As a class we believe in the importance of learning about history. To study the American documents and interpret what they say so we know how to be a good citizen was something we discussed a lot throughout our learning. Also to grasp understanding of where we started as a nation and how far we have come. In the book we read about American history (A Patriot's History by Larry Schweikart and Micheal Allen), we learned all about the different wars, landmarks, documents and presidents. All of which we can see monuments of right in Washington D.C.! We thought this was a great way to wrap up our high school education to see everything we learned about firsthand. Of course along with all the other museums that are offered right there in the National Mall.

But as you all may know, traveling across the country can get expensive very quick. So we ask, if you feel so compelled, that you donate to help us reach our goal! We thank you in advance for helping us create this senior trip that we so look forward to!
