My Travel Story

My biggest goal in life is to make others happy and to make a real difference, Peru will be a step in the right direction. Helping others and giving back is a strong drive in me!

Going to Peru I will be caring for patients in a local clinic (town - Urubamba), giving advice on nutrition and keeping spirits up! When not working I will do a bunch of activities like hiking, but primarily I am focused on the medicine and people.

I will be fundraising with cake sales etc and updating on each event so we can track the progress and help make a difference together. I have put my savings into this (£50) and will continue to put any earnings from work to fund this trip!!

Previous work - I have conducted my own charity work in India, providing food for men, women and children. I helped in Costa Rica, caring for and protecting animals such as turtles and butterflies.

I love all things science and exploring different cultures. I am driven to learn new things and want to learn Spanish past a beginner level during my stay in Peru Summer 2018. I am motivated to immerse myself in the new culture to gain a full appreciation of different ways of life.

My trip is about nutrition and medicinal qualities of plants; it is an area of science I have always wanted to know more about. There are so many medicines that are prevalent in our biodiversity which we have not yet discovered. I want to find these to help people in the future. This internship will allow me to build a good understanding to do so. There is so much in change, I want to be part of it.

    Just finished baking for people who kindly donated £15 and over:) Flower cupcakes and a big batch of brownies; going to deliver them to everyone this week! Thankyou again for all the donations and kind words!
