I'm Ann, 28. A single mother of a 10 years old daughter and a currently domestic helper here in Qatar. I came from a poor and broken family. And I'm the bread winner of the family. In short I'm the one supporting my parents and my daughter's needs. And sad to say that I didn't able to save money and my contract here is about to finish this October, 2024 (two years contract). My situation here in Qatar is hard. My employer have a very sharp tongue and always shouting ( i think I got phobia from her). I'm like a virus when she gets mad at a very small things. I also I don't have day off in my entire contract here. I work almost 16 hours, sometimes more when there's a visitor. My employer also didn't allow me to connect to the WiFi and I got my internet by prepaid load. For I to have internet I ask the driver to buy me prepaid load. That's why, I don't want to come back here in middle east. But going back to the Philippines (from my country) is a no for me. Because I didnt finished college to get a good job.. and the salary for people like me is very low.. Okay, the thing is... I applied for work through online in one agency for I can go and work in Europe as a factory worker but the processing fee is big and I can't afford. I paid the agency one fourth of the amount of the processing fee. I'm asking for help from the kind hearts out there to get the amount I need to fulfil the processing fee. Yes we have the saying, "to feed a man for life is not by giving him fish but to teach him how to fish". But in my situation, I know how to fish but I don't have a boat and a fishing gear for I to go fishing and feed myself. Please understand me. I'm about to finish my contract here in October, 2024.
