My Travel Story
Hi everyone,
I want to share something deeply personal with you. For years, I worked as a dedicated paediatric nurse, a role I loved and one that allowed me to care for others. But my life took an unexpected turn when I developed epilepsy, which meant I could no longer continue my nursing career. Instead, I became a medical contract coordinator so I could work from home and prioritise my health.
While I’m grateful for the path I’ve taken, I’ve missed the hands-on care and connection that nursing brought me. That’s why I’ve decided to step out of my comfort zone and join a volunteer program with International Volunteer HQ in January 2026. This program is my opportunity to use my skills again, regain confidence in myself, and honour the memory of my mum, who passed away in 2012. She always taught me the value of helping others, and this is my way of carrying her legacy forward.
The trip comes with costs, including program fees, travel, and living expenses. I’m working hard to save, but I need help to make this dream a reality.
