Support my Dream to Study Abroad in Korea!
My Travel Story
For many lower class students, studying abroad during the summer can seem impossible. Though it's unfair, I want to work hard and raise money to accomplish my dream of studying abroad.
Since I live in a small town, opportunities for me are bleak. You can probably see why that might be an issue for someone like me, who has a passion for travelling and new surroundings. This boost will help give hope to me and others living in small towns that you can pursue your dreams, no matter your financial circumstances.
My inspiration to study abroad during the summer began in middle school. It's been one of the only things I've talked about for years and 2024 always seemed like the perfect time.
My biggest obstacle is my parents. I grew up in a broken home with my parents divorced. My mother has remarried, but my relationships have never fully healed from the trauma I went through growing up. I want this opportunity to prove my independence from them once and for all, especially because they think I can't do it. I want to prove to myself that I'm capable of finally breaking the curse.
A loud city like Seoul (Korea) is a perfect place for me. Stepping out of my shell from living rurally would be beneficial for me and my dreams to live in a big city one day.
There are many reasons why this trip is meaningful to me. However, I feel like simply explaining every single reason isn't going to benefit anyone. It all comes down to hope for some sort of future where I'm out of this town, as well as inspiring others who are in my position.
If I'm able to go, I plan to document and film a lot of it since I have a passion for filming/cinematography! I will probably upload a YouTube video about my trip to spread the message and to inspire others as well!
