My Travel Story

As a youth and high school student who is deeply involved within my local community through volunteering, I have found immense fulfillment in using my abilities to help those who need it most. Through my various volunteer experiences, I have learnt that small acts of genuine kindness truly mean more than we know. However, I have also developed a true desire to contribute to a global cause and create positive change in a more broader sense.

It is globally acknowledged that education has been the building block of life. Through diversifying opportunities and enriching perspectives, access to quality education has had the power to shape mindsets yet, 3.2 million Tanzanian children aged 7-17 don't attend school, and 1.2 million, have never been. These statistics have truly inspired me to use the education I've been privileged enough to receive for a greater cause, and be a part of a deeper level of meaningful change. While learning about the high student to teacher ratio in Tanzanian classrooms, leaving both teachers, and students feeling unsupported, I have quickly realized the positive difference working alongside teachers and childcare workers could create for Tanzanian children.

From a young age, I've wanted to become a nurse, hoping that one day I'll have the power to make people feel okay in the ways they need. As I've gotten older, I've grown to realize my true purpose for life is to be of service to others and give to those who need it most. This volunteer project in Africa that I have been accepted to be apart of by IVHQ (International Volunteer Headquarters) is just the start of making my younger self proud, and if I have the academic opportunity to become the version of myself I aspire to be as many of us do, why shouldn't Tanzania children? By supporting my journey, you can contribute to helping Tanzanian children feel as though they too are deserving of having the opportunity to make their younger selves proud and feel capable enough to fulfill their own aspirations. If you are able to, and would like to support my 2 week childcare and education humanitarian trip to Arusha, Tanzania with IVHQ, it would mean a lot for my future, as well as Tanzania children. Taking the time to read this means so much to me, and even a small donation amounts to more than you know!

Thank you for contributing to this cause, and supporting my journey.
