In January of 2025, I was able to travel to the village of Ouelessebougou, Mali, Africa, one of the most dangerous and poorest countries in the world, where the women have limited to absolutely no medical care for OBGYN. We as a surgical team were able to preform gynecological surgeries at no cost, to women who had been waiting for years, some their very lives depended on it. We left with 14 women scheduled for surgery when we return in 2026. 

This trip changed my view of how dire situations our brothers and sisters of the world are in. Although our 16 hour work days everyday were grueling, and the conditions were less than desirable, it further fueled my desire to return and help. Nobody deserves it more and is more grateful than these women who have been through and deal with more than we can imagine.  
The women who received surgeries in previous years trips, returned from villages far away, just to thank the doctors and team AGAIN for the care they received. Family members celebrated our return and told stories of how their loved ones lives were changed from their procedures, and seeing their gratitude, for the things we so easily take for granted, I knew I had to return.
