Learning Mandarin immersively in Guilin will help deepen my understanding of Chinese culture, enhance my communication skills and further my connection to my future and previous students in Ningbo and Wuhan.

I am passionate about mentoring, supporting and furthering the career of young artists and photographers in China and the UK, however language can be a stumbling block, and interpreters are not always readily available (or photographically trained).   Whilst working in teams in photography and fashion - communication is key, and I am serious about continuing my career in China!

My photographic teaching practice in China during the past 2 years has been among the most rewarding in my career, partly due to the effort I have put into understanding and communicating (with limited time and resources) with my students.  As a university lecturer in Wuhan I found it difficult to combine teaching, planning and learning Chinese and have decided to give chinese language the time it deserves -  as a freelancer this is limited as are my funds!

I will be selling prints and as much as I can to raise enough money to fund this professional development and would appreciate your help as much as possible! Thankyou for reading!
