My Travel Story

I used to study by candlelight during blackouts in Nigeria. Now, I’ve been accepted to the University of Edinburgh to research solar cell recycling, starting January 2026, and I’m bringing my son with me. This degree isn’t just for me, it’s for every child reading by candlelight and every community facing energy poverty.

My name is Excel Tega, and I’ve turned challenge into purpose. I have a BSc in  Industrial Chemistry and have a strong experience in research. My mission is clear: to make clean, affordable energy more accessible in Nigeria, in Africa, and globally.

This opportunity means everything to me. I’ve already secured sponsorship for tuition, but I need help covering the remaining costs to get myself and my son to Edinburgh.
