Your mom may be your world, but my mom is my ICU guard. I was born a month premature and she was not able to abort me as health complications were only discovered late into her pregnancy. Despite the major risk of her dying, my mom gave birth to me. I was in an ICU where she would constantly pace around to check if I were still breathing. This wonderful woman raised me despite how many health complications my birth brought to her life from this point; she clothed and fed me when her own mind and body were at the verge of collapsing. She taught me to love and be loved, and she taught me kindness. My mom isn't just my world, she's my heart.
Hajj is a major pilgrimage that's mandatory upon every Muslim to complete at one point during one's lifetime, and the heartache I feel when I see how badly my mom wants to go but can't say it because she knows we don't have the financial means for it, truly makes me feel terrible; seeing my heart break down every night in prayer hurts because there's so much I have yet to do for her. I understand this seems pricy, but if I can fundraise enough to take her to Hajj, this would mean so much to our family, and I will forever be indebted and grateful to those who contribute to our journey of achieving this trip!
