Pre-veterinary wildlife internship in South Africa
My Travel Story
The organization that I will be partnering with is GoEco. This organization is a humanitarian volunteer organization that has been in place for approximately 10 years, and has volunteer opportunities in multiple international locations. The region that I will be working in, Chintsa, is a small town on the outskirts of the Wild Coast region of the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
You may ask why South Africa for a pre-veterinary internship. GoEco has designed the internship to give participants professional experience in the fields of animal welfare, animal management, and veterinary science. The internship offers the chance to work with African wildlife in a variety of environments, including game reserves, local farms and rural villages. This internship will broaden my range of hands-on animal experience, which will be invaluable to my future as a veterinarian.
While volunteering with the wildlife in Chinsta, I will have the opportunity to be culturally immersed in the local villages and explore the scenery of Cape Town, South Africa. This trip is a perfect combination of my desire to go abroad and gain exotic animal vet experience.
These types of experiences, however, do come with a financial burden. The total cost of this trip is $3,300, which includes my airfare, the living accommodations for the duration of my stay and food. I would greatly appreciate any donation that you could offer towards my experience in South Africa. If you would like for your donation to substitute a Christmas present or a graduation present, I support that decision. I am also willing to offer up my time and/or skills in exchange for a donation of any amount.
The details are as follows:
Dates: May 23, 2016 - June 6, 2016
Location: Chintsa, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Total cost: $3,300
Monies Due: March 19, 2016
Checks payable to: Megan Sadoski
I sincerely thank you in advance for any financial assistance. You are supporting a great cause that aims to rehabilitate animals in need that without volunteers, Chinsta may not have the proper resources to do so. You are also helping me achieve a personal goal that will enhance my career path. If you have any further questions about my trip please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Megan Sadoski
