Hi, I am Sean from Ohio, USA. I am fundraising for a trip to Korea to deliver my Christmas gift to my close friend, Kyleah. (Yes, it's a girl, and no, we are not that kind of "friend".) We are the kind of friend that knows too much about each other and has been through friend group fallouts, dating, and breakups with best friends. Both of us just graduated earlier this year. I have been working trying to save up some money to move out and she got into a teaching program in Korea. It will be almost a year since we last saw each other. Every year we'd have friends gathering for Christmas gift exchange. This year is the same, except, without her. I still have her gifts wrapped up. We joked about me delivering it to her. After some thought, I decided why not. I want to surprise her with a personal visit and gift delivery. I know she's struggled to adapt to the new culture and is quite lonesome because of the covid policies. The teaching abroad experience isn't as anyone expected.
I hope to raise around $5k for a round-trip ticket to Korea. She is living in a small apartment provided by her program, so I will need to book my stay else were. I don't want to give her more stress than she is currently dealing with. I plan to use the rest of the money on food and travel. This will be an ambitious goal and there is more stuff I'll have to prepare before the flight. I thank everyone willing to lend me a hand in making this possible!
