Stanford Student Volunteering in Cape Town!
My Travel Story
With aspirations to become an elementary teacher, I am ecstatic that my pairing is with Basic Concepts Unlimited, an educational organization in Cape Town that aims to bridge developmental gaps for students in Grades R-3 using foundational knowledge. In my role, I will be working directly with students, and I could not be more excited to form relationships and connections with youth in the city! This project is a direct propellor of my career goals. Cape Town -- and this position specifically -- drew me because I aim to better understand developing student needs as well as learn how I, as a white teacher, can best support perspectives of student diversity.
As an educator, I bring a unique zest for life, bright energy, and a true passion for working with children. To have funding -- in any capacity -- would make an immense difference to me and financing my time away. Thank you in advance! :)
