My Travel Story

Hi everyone! As many of you know, I'm taking a gap year to travel for the 2016-2017 school year. I just graduated from American High School and am planning on attending New York University in Paris in the fall of 2017. I wanted to take a gap year abroad before college in order to expand my horizons, gain global experience, meet new people, learn about different cultures, and take a break from the education system in order to re-center my values and self (as hippy as it sounds). I have an amazing itinerary planned through India, South Africa, Morocco, Portugal, and France taking part in work exchanges on farms, animal welfare and veterinary care, teaching, WWOOFing, working at hostels, surfing, and completing volunteer work. In order to make these travels a reality, I've spent the past year working and saving like a madman. This work definitely paid off, as I'm able to afford most of my year abroad by myself. Unfortunately, some hidden costs jumped up regarding the last few months of my year where I'm taking part in a French language study program in Nice through CESA. I set up this page in order to help fund my French studies in Nice. It's a twelve week course offering twenty lessons per week as well as cultural activities and a homestay. I'm going through CESA, a leading language education program for students. I'll be taking the course from February to May as the last part of my Gap Year. Any donation is greatly appreciated! I'll be using the money towards program costs, housing, classes, groceries, and cultural activities offered by the school.
