My Travel Story

by: Keisha Hughes Start Date: Aug 24, 2026 - End Date: Jul 30, 2027
Help Me Make a Difference in Arusha, Tanzania

On 31 July 2027, I will be travelling to Arusha, Tanzania, for two weeks to volunteer in childcare centres and support children within the local community.

This experience means so much to me because I want to step outside of my comfort zone, experience a different culture and, most importantly, use my time to make a positive difference. I believe every child deserves to feel supported, encouraged and valued, and I am excited to contribute through helping with activities, supporting learning and simply spending time with the children.

I also want to learn from the local community and gain a greater understanding of the world beyond my own experiences. While I know two weeks cannot change an entire community, I believe that small acts of support can still have a meaningful impact.

The money raised will go towards my programme fees, which contribute to the local community in Arusha, purchasing much-needed supplies for the childcare centres and as well as towards my flight to get to Tanzania. This means that your donations will not only help me take part in this experience, but will also directly support the community and children I will be working with.

I hope to return home with more than just memories. I want to gain a new perspective, grow in confidence and independence, and come away with a deeper appreciation for the opportunities I have and the importance of giving back.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help me get one step closer to making this opportunity a reality. Thank you so much for your support!
