My Travel Story

After working in the states as a historical guide with the park service for 3 years, I felt like it was time to expand my teaching in a new horizon. I decided to visit Colombia, which I had heard was a country reinventing itself from a rather difficult past. With no plan in mind, I bought a ticket and flew to Colombia (I had never flown internationally on my own). I immersed myself in the culture, made new friends and immediately fell in love with the country but most importantly with the people. Many of the locals said that they learned to speak English in order to find better job opportunities. I new I had to do everything I could to return to Colombia with the possibility of teaching English to those who lived there, and at the same time opening my world to a  country and culture completely different than my own!
