My Travel Story
I am a journalist that finds myself at an exciting yet challenging crossroads in my career. For the past 6 years, I’ve been working in our Nation’s Capitol, Washington, D.C. I’ve covered events from White House Press Briefings, to BLM protests, to January 6th.
I'm a passionate journalist who recently lost my job in Washington, D.C. with a small boutique news outlet due to budget cuts. But, the silver lining is that I've been offered a wonderful opportunity with a major news agency in a major city in the Midwest.
While I'm thrilled about this career move, I face a daunting financial hurdle: moving expenses and a car down payment. I've applied for multiple personal loans to cover the costs of relocating and securing a new life in a different city, but the reality of the journalism industry is that it often doesn't provide the most substantial salaries.
My credit score, as a result, isn't high enough to qualify for the loans I desperately need. In Washington, D.C., I didn't need one, but in my new city in the Midwest, reliable transportation is a necessity.
I am humbly asking for your support to help me raise $10,000 which will cover the costs of moving, securing a new place to live, settling into the Midwest, and getting a reliable car to kickstart my life there.
