After years of study, the time has finally come for me to travel to the middle east and hone my Arabic skills, as well as immerse myself in the culture of those who live there.  For two months this summer, I will be living in Amman, Jordan and attending Qasid, a U.S. institute for intensive Arabic study.  This trip is vital to my education, as I will be earning 12 credit hours while abroad, as well as receiving the best kind of language practice there is:  total immersion.

My love for language and learning the cultures of the world is what motivated me to begin learning Arabic during my first year at NC State. Thus, I am deeply grateful that I now have the opportunity to enhance my abilities in the language and cultural understanding, far beyond what the conventional classroom can offer.  This study abroad experience will be a highlight of my college career, and will be an invaluable stepping stone in my education.  It will make me a better student and person.
