Support My Journey to the Hawaiian Islands for a Culturally Immersive Experience

I decided to treat each day I live as if it were my last, and here is why!

In late August of 2024, doctors diagnosed me with a rare condition called GBS Gullian-Barre Syndrome. Before my diagnosis, I began feeling ill, with the common cold/flu like symptoms. At a certain point, I began to panic when I was slowly losing the ability to move my body. This is when I knew I needed to go to the Hospital. After countless testing, blood work and analysis', they diagnosed me with GBS. The fear of not living my life to its fullest creeped up on me.. uncertain if I would wake up the next day. Upon my discharge from the hospital, I vowed to myself to live each day as if it could be my last.

What do you say? Do you want to help make a difference and positive impact in my life and those around the world I make meaningful connections with?

Trip Background:
I’m embarking on a transformative solo journey to the Hawaiian Islands, where I will engage in a deeply immersive cultural exchange. This trip will allow me to learn from the rich history and traditions of the Polynesian culture while looking inward to connect with my mind, body, and soul. As a passionate advocate for community-building and personal growth, I intend to volunteer my time with local organizations, participate in traditional practices, and share in the experience of the land and its people.
This educational research trip is an opportunity to enrich my understanding of cultural diversity, and it will positively impact my future career by broadening my perspective on global cultures and sustainability practices. I belive that  immersing myself in local customs and traditions, I will not only learn but also contribute in meaningful ways to the communities I visit, ensuring that I leave a positive and lasting impact.

Hawaiian culture has captured my heart since I first visited in 2021, and I’ve returned every year with the intention of fostering greater connections with the land and the people. From trying new foods to exploring nature, I find my passion in seeking out new experiences and meeting like-minded travelers who share my love for exploration. This journey is personal to me because it represents my commitment to helping preserve and respect the cultures I engage with, while deepening my relationship with Mother Gaia.
