This opportunity to travel overseas will allow me to broarden my scope of practice with being a student nurse. By currently studying my Bachelor of Nursing I will be given the change to make my dreams a reality by helping others in need as well as learning a new culture at the same time.

By allowing my this opportunity I will be able to give back to the community and the children that are needing extra love and support in their lives. I hope to grow as an individual and to become a role model for not only the children in my care but also for the other students undergoing the same project.

I am am passionate about this particular project in volunteering in orphanages and hospitals in third world countries as it hits close to home with my sister needing medical support for a long periods of time at the age of 1 and with having an abortive brother being welcomed into our family. This has made me realise one person can make a different and I want to be one of those people.

I choose Africa and India as they draw my attention with the amount of volunteers not willing to participating in their programs because of the extra precautions. I want to make a difference and help these third world countries that are seeking our extra helping hands.
