Research Visit for Ocean Exploration & Hydrospatial Mission!
My Travel Story
I am Francesca Adrienne from Seychelles, a spatial scienctist who has embarked on a transformative journey to advance our understanding of the ocean and its vast, largely unexplored depths. I've recently established the Seychelles Hydrospatial Observatory for Research and Exploration (SHORE) Institute, an NGO focused on seafloor mapping and ocean research, observation, and exploration.
We focus on studying the complex dynamics of the ocean in Seychelles, including currents and marine habitats, and investigating the impact of climate change. The institute employs advanced techniques like seabed mapping to gain insights into underwater landscapes, biodiversity, and potential resources. SHORE is committed to promoting awareness and understanding of the ocean's significance and inspiring actions to protect and conserve its fragile ecosystems. SHORE also supports the sustainable development of Seychelles' blue economy by providing scientific knowledge and services for better decision-making. The institute aims to become a leader in the hydrospatial domain, advancing its importance and benefits towards the sustainable development of Large Ocean States like Seychelles.
But we are not just an organisation; this is a manifestation of my passion and commitment to sustainable ocean development. It's about using science and technology to understand our oceans better, to protect them, and to ensure they can continue to support life and livelihoods for generations to come.
As part of the establishment of the organisation research and collaborative visits to the National Oceanogphy Centre in the Southampton UK, the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping/Joint Hydrographic Center (CCOM/JHC) in New Hampshire and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Falmouth USA is required. These experiences will significantly enhance my knowledge and skills, enabling me to contribute more effectively to SHORE's mission.
This research visit is a crucial step in that journey. By learning from leading institutions in the field, we can enhance our capabilities, establish valuable collaborations, and gain insights that will directly benefit our work in Seychelles and other Large Ocean States. But we can't do it alone. We need your support to make this project a reality. By supporting this project, you're not just funding a research visit; you're investing in the future of our oceans and the communities that depend on them. Together, we can make a lasting impact on small island communities and the world at large.our generous donation will support my travel to these important observatory and research institute and contribute to the foundational work of SHORE.
Together, we can make a lasting impact on small island communities and the world at large.
Thank you for considering a donation to this meaningful initiative. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goal. Let's explore the mysteries of the ocean together and create a sustainable future for all.
