Podfest 2020!

In September, 2019, my Pod started a podcast. Now our host has given me a free ticket to Podfest, a podcasting convention happening in Orlando from March 5-8!

Podcasting got me through the darkest time last fall, and I want to be better at it. I want to help our little podcast grow. I want to create better content. I want to learn how to take my message and learning and spread it round.

It just isn't in the budget, unfortunately. I have a free ticket. Now I need help to make this become a reality.

    It's just a week away! I'm really excited for this opportunity and so very thankful for all of the support, donations, and energy that everyone is sending in. A few people have asked if they can still make a contribution for incidentals. Absolutely!

    This campaign is open until March 11, 1 day AFTER my birthday (March 10), so there is still time if it would bring you joy to help me.

    If you're a podcaster and you're not making it, please connect with me. I'm going to be taking notes and sharing everything I learn.

    Self Care Needs Adjust My Plans, But...
    As you know, I'm disabled, so when I discovered my couch-surfing was a literal couch, I became concerned about my body. Good sleep and an ability to rest during the day are very important to keeping this gal going.

    So, I found a cheap hotel room at a place that serves breakfast, did the ride share math, and found other people who are staying in the hotel to ride with each day!

    The change adjusted my budget by about 100 bucks, BUT I have REACHED THAT GOAL with a $69 (nice) anonymous donation.

    Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, messaged me, reassured me, and..... gosh. You know. The mushy stuff.

    Here's how my prep is going!

    - I've got another video call on the 27th to talk to some other new people and get some tips for making the most out of this experience
    - I've been making connections, friends, and even giving some advice on the Podfest convention app!
    - I have business cards, some of our buttons, and (as you can see from the picture) my convention lanyard ready to go!
    - We're recording this week so I can make sure upcoming episodes are completed and scheduled BEFORE I leave
    - I'm working on my presentation for the nursing conference so I can print a copy to rehearse and make notes with
    - I'm planning outfits that stand out, look professional, but with my own fashion twist ;)


    - I'm really really excited this is happening!
