I think travelling always impacts the way you perceive a life. It will be extremely educational and I guess really amazing for my career. As I am a gay boy living in India, I have seen people kill themselves, and hate themselves, hide their real self and seeing all these things happening around me saddens me. I always wanted to have a career where I could spread awareness and change people's perception about things like sexuality and gender roles. Meeting people from all around the world is gonna make me understand what people in different countries are going through and how can I be a help to them and how can I use that experience to do something inspirational for people all around the world.
I am extremely passionate about this project because I think travelling is one of the things I love and helping people is the first. I have always been a very sensitive and emotional person and everyone around me bullied me for being so, even my own parents. They believe boys shouldn't be sensitive or emotional. They believe being gay is a mental problem and a lot of things that they don't understand well. The way people perceive gender roles and sexuality, it's one of the things I would like to change. I want today's people to be more open minded and accepting.
I choose these destinations because I think there are the few places which are most affected by such stereotypical and extremely narrow mentality and grudges for the LGBTQ+ community. Not everyone but still a lot of people needs to understand and be educated properly.
This is meaningful for me because I know the pain of being hated for something that you aren't responsible for, being different from the normal norms of today's society and the issues we have to deal with everyday, the sucides I see all around me, those hundreds of people I have talked to about how miserable life they are living and a lot of times because of their parents. They loose hope and wish to end their lives because people don't have support. Today's people have become less social and more of a media. People don't have friends to talk to, parents don't understand their children, gender inequality and a lot more.
