My Travel Story

I am just a regular grandma that retired as a nurse and left everything to answer my calling to go to the Mumias Village in Kenya to be a voice of hope and light to underprivileged orphaned and abandoned children.

Mama Watotos' purpose and vision is to rescue, provide support and the necessary care for orphaned, abandoned and neglected children in the rural areas of Mumias Kenya and place them safely in our Children's home.

So far we were able to rescue 12 children of which one amazing rescue story was Baby Baraka in 2018 who was born by his 13 year old mother who also was abandoned but out of fear of going back to her to parents home with her newborn baby attempted to throw Baby Baraka in the lake.

Now Baby Baraka is 4 years old going 5 years in December 2023 praise God!
He is going into his second year in Primary School.

As the the demand for Mama Watotos to provide support for many other babies and children cases keep soaring high I am limited with my resources and hence I found this site.

Currently I would be grateful if I could get assistance in the following:

Help us get our beautiful Zainab who is now 7 years old, a wheelchair because when she was a baby she was burned in a fire that was caught in her home and was left with her waist without legs and so far she has just been using her hands on the ground to move.

Carolyne Omukanga is an orphaned young lady from Mumias Kenya. Being a brilliant student, she was headhunted by Maseno University to do a Communications & Media Tech with IT Degree.
She is looking for help for high education so that she may be able to help and support her siblings
All her parents died and she has no other family members or anyone to finance her education.
She did complete a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2021 and had managed to score a B despite all the financial obstacles many underprivileged kids encounter.
Due to her incredible results, Carolyne was headhunted by Maseno university to do a Bachelors Degree in Communications & Media Tech with IT (4 years).

She was supposed to have reported to the University as they are to resume classes on the 11th September 2023 but due to lack of funds she still has not been able to report to the University.
