My Travel Story

I'm a screenwriter which can be the loneliness job in the filmmaking industry but Austin Film Festival reminds me that I'm not alone and I'm not the only one grinding, writing,  creating everyday to keep their soul fulfilled. I've attended AFF every year since 2021. The connections I've made remain invaluable today. I want to continue to build my own "Hollywood" circle of colleagues that I also call friends. In 2022, I met Constance M. Burge who created the tv series Charmed (1998-2006). In 2024, I met Julie Plec who created the tv franchise/universe of The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017). I'm looking forward to meeting Patrick Schumacker (co-showrunner for Abbott Elementary), Nkechi Okoro Carroll (showrunner for All American: Homecoming), and Justin Simien (writer/director of Dear White People [film] + creator/showrunner for Dear White People [tv series]). I also have a few friends that I look forward to meeting in person for the first time as they're attending the festival as well.
