My Travel Story

I have always wanted to see what the world has to offer and being able to study abroad during this time in my life is a blessing. I will learn more about the Irish part of my heritage and get an in depth look into their culture. Learning about a new culture and lifestyle will help me grow as a person both in life and in school. Having firsthand experience in education of a foreign country will broaden my mind and viewpoints which will only benefit my future career in education. I think experiencing and learning new things is vital to a person’s growth and this is why I have chosen to study abroad. I have always had the support of my friends and family, being so close to them and home while in school and this is a chance for me to step out on my own and find my own path. I want to push myself and go beyond my comfort zone and see what the world has to offer. I have always had to work throughout the year in order to put and keep myself in school and by going abroad I will be able to focus almost all of my time spent there on my school work and gaining knowledge in and out of the classroom. Everyone who has ever traveled, in or out of the country, knows that setting out on your own creates incredible memories and experiences for a person and I want to become the best person I can be and understand the ways of many through my travels. The program I am going with Globalinks Study Abroad is an amazing company and has helped many fulfill their dreams, which is exactly what they are doing for me. Through this program I will be able to explore more of Europe than just Limerick, Ireland and get to see many sites that I can come back and share with my future students. The University of Limerick is also a wonderful place to study and learn about the Irish culture, it is set on the Shannon River and offers many opportunities to learn about their traditional ways.
