My Travel Story

Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra Fawley and I am currently working towards my Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Professional Writing and Religious Studies at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Previously, I served honorably in the United States Marine Corps (from '07 to '12).

Carroll requires all students to experience a different culture prior to graduation and I've been accepted into a program for this Spring that will allow me to experience Italy for ten days in March.

As you can imagine, I'm super excited to experience Italy from a "slow travel" perspective. This perspective will focus less on sight seeing and more on opening myself up to the experience through reflective journaling (which I look forward to sharing with you through blog form at how2happen.wordpress.com).  While in Italy, I will have the opportunity to tour the markets and explore the city of Palermo, take cooking classes in Sicily, make Ricotta, and visit other cities like Morantina and Agrigento. 

The money I raise through this campaign will be used to cover travel expenses (including airfare, hotel stays, and transportation while in Italy), food, and the cost of activities that I will be participating in.
