My Travel Story

We are students of a Community College in the Bronx. Each one of us share a different passion and a different dream, but one thing that we can say that we have in common is that we want to explore and travel new grounds and in this case we have the wonderful opportunity to travel to Belize in Central America.

Last summer a group of students went and they had a amazing time and wonderful experience. Last summer the trip was funded by the school. This summer our group was not so lucky and our trip was not able to fit the budget of our school, which means that we have now pay for our trip. Some of us are having trouble coming up with the funds for our travel. Of course we would all love to go to because their are alot of once and a lifetime experiences that we can do.

Our trip is based on geoarcheological research. So this means we look at the geology aspect of the area as well are the archeological aspect. We get to explore the Mayan ruins and discover things about that past and learn new things, that can help us to possibly understand what happened to the Mayans. That is what kind of brings all of us together. Since we are all students we can learn about new things together and talk about them and whatever we don't understand we can always help eachother out. Not only will we be working together we will also be exploring other parts of the country together.

All of this put together can help us better ourselves as students and with everyday life because we have now expanded our knowledge in so many different ways. This also gives us the oppotunity to share our experience for the students that will be traveling after us. We would be able to explain to our experience and help them understand why we are studying the Mayan people.

Overall we see this opportunity as a way to help us intelluectually, help your fellow students and just allow us to explore something new, something out of our comfort zone, that we know we won't regret!
