My Travel Story

I am currently a Senior at Mississippi State University studying Pre-Veterinary medicine. I have completed many hours of local volunteer work as well as a Veterinary mission trip to Arizona and have even founded a Christian Agriculture Outreach club at State whose mission is service work for the community. Despite these accomplishments, I feel that God is calling me to something more. I recently received an email from my advisor telling me about the two week Summer course offered by Sacred Heart College in San Ignacio, Belize.
             Not only will I receive college credit for this course, I will get invaluable hands on experience that I will not receive here in the US. The first week alone I will learn suture techniques, spay and neuter options in the tropics, and animal husbandry management practices in under-priviledged areas. I will also be able to interact with local residents and instructors, which I believe will be very rewarding.
            I am a single mother trying to make a better example and future for my daughter. I do not have my parents' wings to support me through this financially or spritually. I work full time while taking 15-18 hours a semester plus raise my daughter and run my hobby farm and I still manage A's and B's in my classes.
            Please consider funding my trip so that I may have this once in a lifetime opportunity to gain educationally and spiritually. It will be un-Belize-able.
