·        - Volunteer work for a non-profit organization in Oaxaca City whose focus is to teach the public about a variety of social issues apparent in Mexico, including animal rights and welfare, ecological responsibility, health, disability rights, human rights, education, children, and farming.

·        - Young women's dormitory and center for indigenous girls from local villages that provides housing during high school, university and emotional assistance and workshops

·        - Civil association that promotes a woman's right to vote and equal participation in the government

·        - Organizing, publicizing and teaching workshops in communities to teach basic human rights

·        - most importantly I'll be learning the lifestyle/culture of my family first hand and meet my grandmother for the first time in person!
