My Travel Story

こんにちは (Konnichi wa!). Hello everyone, my name is Daniel Knettel and I am planning on studying Japanese while in Osaka, Japan this summer through CET's intensive summer program.

A quick snippit about myself: I have been studying the Japanese language for a little less than a year now but have been interested in Japanese culture, society, diet, and entertainment for several years. This trip, being immersive, would allow me to learn conversational Japanse from native speakers and greatly accelerate my learning overall (covering 2 college semesters of Japanese in 8 weeks). I think being abroad and gaining insight on another culture will help to further develop me as a young adult in the up and coming generation. Going on this trip will mean the world to me and I'm beyond excited for the experience even though it is still 4 months away from now.

As of right now, my own personal savings from working part-time at school will only be enough to pay for my plane ticket and my food/meals while in Japan. Also, since Japan has the 3rd largest economy on the planet, the program cost for the trip itself is quite expensive. But, I will sincerely appreciate any support in this endeavor. I hope you can help me in becoming a global citizen and a more internationally-knowledgeable student overall! :)
