My Travel Story

This summer I have the chance to
participate in an exciting adventure. The door has opened for me to serve with
Humanitarian Experience for Youth (H.E.F.Y.) to travel to Tonga and help build houses
and toilets for needy families. I will work with a group composed of about 20
youth and 4 chaperones from all over the US and Canada and we will work in
partnership with the local people to complete this humanitarian project.



The people in the village where we
will serve are surrounded by poverty which keeps them from installing plumbing
and electricity and leads to poor hygiene. My goal is to raise $3,000 in
contributions to H.E.F.Y. I'm currently babysitting and teaching dance classes
to raise money for this expedition.



This is not a luxury trip; I will be
working hard but I am excited about the opportunity to share my time, talents
and energy with others. I also expect to learn a lot about the culture and
myself as I work alongside members of the community.
