My Travel Story
I am planning a two-week trip to Morogoro, in Tanzania, in August 2016, with Gap Medics. While there I will be gaining valuable work experience shadowing a doctor in a local hospital. As well as this, I will be volunteering in the local orphanage.
WHAT IS GAP MEDICS?
Gap Medics provides medical work experience
placements in exciting locations overseas to
students between 16-25.
WHY SHOULD YOU SPONSOR ME?
Your sponsorship will allow me to take part in this program, which will give me a real insight into my chosen career, help make my UCAS application stand out from the crowd, and give me great talking points for interview. Above all, I will benefit from gaining an in-depth understanding of the disparities in global healthcare.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING OVERSEAS?
I will spend time shadowing experienced doctors on ward rounds and in surgery, learning about the differences between healthcare at home and in developing countries overseas. In my free time, I will have the opportunity to volunteer at the local orphanage, and visit sites of cultural interest.
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
Your money will help me to pay for my placement with Gap Medics. This includes my hospital placement, accommodation, food, in-country and UK support, and of course, a donation to the hospital.

Cake Sale!
Last week I held a cake sale at my school with the help of some teachers and friends. Thank you to everyone who helped by baking cakes and promoting my trip! :) I also held assemblies all week to help raise awareness of my fundraising. Thank you for all your support; due to your help I was able to raise £140! :) -
We Have Reached £2500!
Thank you to everyone who has donated! I can now say that along with offline donations we have reached £2500! Thank you so much! It seems like ages ago that is was first organised, and now I have only 4 months till I will be travelling to Morogoro! I cannot explain how excited I am! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me get each step closer to reaching my goal, and enabling me to go on this amazing oportunity :)
