Send me to Shanghai, my first real CHINA experience!!!!

I have decided to embark on a new opportunity and intern abroad where I can experience a rich culture as well as receive professional laboratory experience. This travel experience would help me a lot in the future because it is the first step for me to explore what my career has to offer. I would be working in a professional laboratory in which I can learn about the different techniques of a foreign country and compare those to our own. For example, one of my goals is to combine holistic techniques with western medicine.

When we are in pain we often rely on medicine and forget about nurturing the body with exercise and diet, one of the many common holistic practices. Because holistic practices focus on healing the individual as a whole, we can effectively rejuvenate our body with exercise, diet, and especially medicine. With this in mind, I decided that just treating patients with medicine is not enough, and that the addition of this such practices should effectively heal not only patients with injuries, but also, better treat patients with certain diseases. As a result, applying for this internship would allow me to work with doctors and other laboratory technicians at a local hospital in which I would learn about different medicinal diagnostic tests and techniques, acknowledging what the Chinese healthcare system has to offer to its people. By doing this, I will gain knowledge of what is effective to patients so when the internship ends, I can return to my country and advocate the usage of efficient western and holistic medicinal techniques in hopes of one day revolutionizing the United States healthcare system, and hopefully, impact how we view health globally.
