My Travel Story

by: Nina Motlagh Start Date: Jan 22, 2015 - End Date: May 21, 2015
Hey everyone! I'm a second year student at UC San Diego studying neuroscience and global health. I am going to travel abroad to Parma, Italy, to study mirror neurons in the place where they were discovered! Mirror neurons play a large role in our social cognition, and it is a relatively new area of study in the neuroscience/cognitive science fields. I hope to acquire a great deal of knowledge about how they work and what their importance is in relevance to our society. Of course, travelling abroad is not only going to help me further my academic career, but also my personal ambition to travel to as many places as I can within my lifetime. This trip will be among the first I am taking to follow that dream and see what the world is like in all kinds of different destinations. I will be working two part-time jobs during this academic year in order to save up for the program, but will still fall short of the grand total. ANY help towards the funds for this trip would be greatly appreciated, and I will personally thank you in any way I can!

Thank you all so much for helping me pursue my travelling dream! Words can not describe how incredibly grateful I am for your generosity.
While I'm in Italy, I am going to be sending postcards/souvenirs to all of you wonderful people, so if you could email me your addresses to ninamotlagh@hotmail.com (or just facebook message me!), that would be great!
    Again, thank you all!
