Hi, my name is Shakaya Howard, a junior at Hampton University majoring in business management. I have been awarded the opportunity to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain for the summer of 2015. I have always dreamed of having an opportunity like this and now that I have it, I need the help from my community to get me there. Will you help me? I will be studying in Spain for about 4 weeks in the CIEE: Business and Culture program, I plan on taking 2 business classes as well as volunteering, while staying with an host family to improve my language skills. In the 3 years of school thus far, I have worked very hard to become successful and will be graduating May 2016 with bachelors in management. I feel that studying abroad will open up many doors for me with newly networking relationships, experience to add to my resume, possible newjob opportunities for me. I also feel that I will be able to gain a lot of experience from this opportunity by learning first hand about a different culture, and language. My goal is to return to reside in Spain after graduation, and completing and succeeding in this program will help insure that I am able to do so.
